Privacy Policy

DropshipGuru (“we,” “us,” “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and, where applicable, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2.1 Information We Collect

2.1.1 Personal Data

We may collect your name, email address, phone number, billing/shipping address, PAN, GSTIN, business name, and identity/KYC documents necessary to deliver services such as marketplace seller account setup.

2.1.2 Payment Data

Payments are processed through third-party payment gateways. We do not store full card numbers or banking credentials on our servers; payment gateways handle and store such sensitive financial data subject to their own security standards and privacy policies.

2.1.3 Device and Usage Data

We may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, and time spent on our website, typically through cookies and analytics tools.

2.1.4 Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate our website, remember preferences, and analyze usage. See our Cookie Policy (Section 2.10) for details.

2.2 How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

  • Deliver the services you have purchased (e.g., creating a seller account on your behalf, listing products, providing consultation);
  • Process payments and issue invoices, including GST-compliant invoicing;
  • Communicate with you regarding your order, support queries, and service updates;
  • Improve our website, services, and customer experience;
  • Send promotional or marketing communications, where you have not opted out;
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations under Indian law.

2.3 Third-Party Services

We may share limited information with trusted third parties strictly as necessary to deliver our services, including:

  • Marketplace platforms (Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho) — to create and manage your seller account;
  • Shopify and website hosting providers — to build and host your store/website;
  • Payment gateways — to process transactions;
  • Google Analytics — to understand website traffic and usage patterns;
  • Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) — for advertising and marketing analytics, where applicable;
  • WhatsApp Business API/communication tools — to communicate with you regarding your order.

These third parties have their own privacy policies governing the use of information shared with them, and we encourage you to review those policies. We do not sell your personal data to unrelated third parties for their independent marketing purposes.

2.4 Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with our legal and tax obligations (including statutory record-keeping requirements under GST and income tax law), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Where data is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.

2.5 Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

2.6 Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

2.7 Your Rights

Subject to applicable law (including the DPDP Act, 2023, once and to the extent it is brought fully into force), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Request deletion of your personal data, subject to our legitimate legal, contractual, or regulatory retention requirements;
  • Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time;
  • Lodge a grievance with our Grievance Officer (Section 2.11) regarding the handling of your data.

To exercise these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 20 (Contact Information). We will respond within a reasonable timeframe as required under applicable law.

2.8 International Data Transfers

Where service providers we use (such as cloud hosting, analytics, or communication tools) store or process data outside India, we take reasonable steps to ensure such transfers are conducted in a manner consistent with applicable Indian data protection law.

2.9 Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The updated version will be posted on our website with a revised "Last Updated" date.

2.10 Cookie Policy

Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to:

  • Enable core website functionality (essential cookies);
  • Remember your preferences (functional cookies);
  • Analyze website traffic and usage patterns via tools such as Google Analytics (analytics cookies);
  • Deliver and measure the performance of advertising via tools such as Meta Pixel (advertising cookies).

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; however, disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality. By continuing to use our website, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this policy.

2.11 Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made thereunder, the contact details of our Grievance Officer are provided in Section 20 (Contact Information) of this document.
